Promoting parkrun volunteering using AI and data, or a data dive into our local parkrun.

Parkrun is a free and timed weekly 5k running event. It is free, becase it’s done by volunteers, and a small amount is also supported by sponsors and selling parkrun items, but yeah it happens at near 3000 location around the globe, and if we consider minimum of 10 volunteers for each event (very minimalistic number since many have over 50 people in the volunteer team everyweek), so we have 30000 people, so we see the sponsor etc is a peanut in comparision to the volunteer work.

The whole event started in 2004 in the Bushy park in London, and over time spread across the world, and in 2017 arrived in Finland, as Tampere Parkrun, the very event that I’ve been participating semi-regularly in the past three years.
